Outfit Re-Do #6

**For the entire month of January, I’m going to be  re-doing outfits I’ve previously worn that just didn’t really work.  I’ll be sticking with the main theme of the outfit fail, but trying new pieces or combinations to take a failed outfit into a favorite outfit.**

For today’s re-do, my original outfit isn’t entirely a fail, but there was definitely room for improvement.  The shoes are just not the right style, and the blouse/cardigan combo just doesn’t work together(the silhouettes, not the colors)

I switched the colors of the cardigan/blouse and added in more flattering shoes and voila, a new outfit that is much improved over the original.

Let me tell you, doing DIY’s during the week when you work full-time is kind of a pain in the butt, long drawn out process!  Stains and glues that take 4-6 hours to dry mean you can at best, do only one coat in the morning before work and one in the evening after work.  It feels like it’s taking forever to get this island/work station built!  It’ll be worth all the painstaking work once it’s finished though..I’m just getting antsy to start sewing again.

In more personal news, the hubby found a lump in one of Lili’s mammary glands last night, so we had to take her to the vet to be examined. They told us this would likely happen since she was so old when she got spayed(her previous owner didn’t spay her because she was so small).  According to internet sources, more than half the time these tumors are benign, so I am praying that this one is as well.  I will keep you updated!

**ETA**:  After work, I received a text from my sister with a picture of the outfit she had worn….completely unplanned we had chosen the same color scheme and even the same headband.
