Polka Dots and Yellow

I need your guys help!  I want to make my blog better.

The first thing is, I’ve noticed that most fashion bloggers do mini”photo-shoots” for their daily posts as well as take photos outdoors.  This translates into much better looking photos, but is a lot more work and can’t just be done on the fly as I head to work.  Is this something you guys would like to see?  Outdoor photo shoot like photos?  Or are you happy with my crappy quality in-door one picture shoots?

I’d love it if you could answer this poll I created about my pictures:

Is there anything else you’d like to see from this blog?

More personal life stuff?  Non-work fun outfits(stuff that you wouldn’t actually wear, but is fun to put together…like an over stylized photo shoot you’d see in a magazine)?  Bring back the makeup feature?

Let me know!  I want to do stuff that interest you and will keep you reading.

Moving on to today’s look:

Sometimes outfit ideas come to me when I’m standing in my closet looking at different options.  Other times, I’ll just randomly think of an outfit while driving, working out, working or as was the case last night, in bed before I fell asleep.

I thought about black/white polka dots combined with yellow and grey.  I knew immediately that my outfit for today would include all those components.  Even though I had already laid out a different outfit for today, I switched it out for my late night vision and overall I’m pleased with how it turned out! I really need to shorten the sleeves of my yellow cardigan though; I really don’t like how messy the rolled up sleeves look.

{Blouse: F22, Cardigan: Ann Taylor Factory, Skirt: Limited, Necklace: NY&Co, Shoes: Urbanog.com}

Thanks for taking the time to help me out with this!

      Awww…thanks! You are always so positive and make me smile. I took the pictures yesterday for my guest post and then I forgot my memory card at home so I won’t get to work on the post till tomorrow or Monday, but I promise you’ll have it very soon!

    I agree. You always look lovely and, you have what others sometimes do not — a genuinely sweet smile (the demure downcast eyes on an expressionless face are sometimes uncomfortable on other bloggers). Your beauty goes beyond just the surface outfits! I like the work-appropriate outfits most, because that’s what I need inspiration for as a high school English teacher. Keep doing what you’re doing! 🙂

      Thank you for your kind words. One of the reasons(besides time and locations issues) for taking my photos the way that I do is because it’s my real life and I didn’t want to get trapped in this “every photo must look like a magazine cover”, but I wanted to also improve the aesthetic qualities of the blog as well. I’m really happy to hear that you find some inspiration in my work appropriate looks, because that’s the goal for this blog! Thank you for reading!

    I think you always look lovely and it doesn’t matter where you take them as long as we can see your outfit 🙂

    Go with what you think is good I say!

      Thanks for responding(and with such kind words too!). It’s sometimes hard to know how to move forward with your blog because you see all the “popular” bloggers doing it a particular way and you wonder if it’s something that you should be doing or just keep at it the way you have always been….It’s much easier to snap a quick pic before work than to set up some elaborate photo-shoot, so I’m glad you can tolerate my photos as is(haha). Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it!
