Cold Front

A cold front has moved through Georgia and it’s chilly and windy out(at least chilly for the end of April).  I had already planned to wear this outfit this week, but since it looks rather fall/winterish, today turned out to be the perfect day for such a look.

Mustard and purple are one of my very favorite combinations.  This time I’m using a darker olive mustard and a deep wine.  It’s very fall looking but I really don’t care! I’ll wear what I like when I want if that means fall colors in spring or spring colors in the dead of winter.

Because my skirt has a little decorative piece at the waist, I first tried with my shirt untucked.  But I’m not sure how I feel about that….I always feel that when my shirt is tucked in, it emphasizes my larger bottom half…

Then I tried it untucked:

Blouse: Ann Taylor

Cardigan: J. Crew Outlet

Skirt: Ann Taylor(old)

Necklace: New York and Company

What do you think? Tucked or untucked?

Here’s a consequence of using the self-timer when shooting pics….haha

I think this is a great colour combination for you – very flattering!! I wonder if the problem is that your shirt isn’t ‘tailored’ enough to emphasize your waist? It seems a bit baggy at the waist, which could possibly explain why you feel your (phantom) larger lower half is emphasized? I really like all the detail on all your pieces, you really have an eye for pulling things together!
